Both Barack Obama and John McCain, among pretty much every other politician, are pounding their fists and calling for freedom from foreign oil, also known as “energy independence.” They claim that our addiction to oil helps to support (embolden, anyone?) both terrorists and regimes such as those in the Middle East and Venezuela. New Energy - Saving our Nation and our Earth

From what we know now, what alternatives exist to oil that we can work towards to both save our economy AND save the Earth? Let's first conquer the easier problem of electricity. First - a US government report states that in two decades and with proper investment, the US could get 20% of its electricity from wind, the cleanest of all energy sources and in my humble opinion - the best looking.
